GASP! Have we had the F&G convo yet, Jane? 'Cause I am IN LURVE with Bill Haverchuck! In fact, I've been working periodically on this rubber stamp I'm carving which is about, oh, 12 - 14 inches long and reads i<3billhaverchuck (that's supposed to be a heart, not 'less than three'). The plan was to dip it in permanent ink and slap it on a tshirt in lieu of the much more expensive and time consuming silk screening process. I own the deluxe edition of the series on DVD, which came in a YEARBOOK. It is the coolest damn thing you ever did see. If we ever meet I will bring it along and we can watch Bill cry because his mom is dating Biff. Oh my god I am such a dork.

OH, how I wish I knew you in person. That way, I could have told you IMMEDIATELY who that song was by. As a kid my dad used to sell stereo equipment at the base exchange part time (you know, when he wasn't saving the world in the military). One of the songs he used as his demo was CM's Feels so Good. He also used to use Rise by Herb Alpert (a song I may NEVER find a download of or someone who has the CD), a far better song than Spanish Flea (not that it's not a great, fun song!!). Talk about two songs that just make a person HAPPY and GIDDY beyond words!??!! Alas, I am in a similar position with a song that I loved as a teenager. I, however, don't recall how the song goes, BUT I do remember the video.

Well, at least I finally know what the name of that song is. I could tell what the tune was from the transcription of your humming--you are GOOD, my sister! XOXO Vioelt VIOLET, I mean

In my defense, it really did sound like "Little Spanish Flea"! CBC must enjoy torturing listeners with snippets of real songs. Years ago, my sister was practicing an *incredibly* familiar song on her flute. I ran into her room and demanded to know what it was called. Turned out to be some numbered Bach composition, which was no help at all. Finally, after weeks of hearing her play the song repeatedly, I heard it again - this time on CBC radio! It was one of the theme songs for As It Happens (the Moe Koffman jazzy version though, not straight Bach). Yay! Mystery solved!

Too funny...you always seem to be overcome with pursuit of "name that tune"...I, on the other hand, would tell you to have another "DONUT"!
